About the artist —
Abigail Varney (b. 1986) is a Melbourne/Naarm-based photographic artist and a member of the Oculi collective. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including her long-term project Rough & Cut, which became her first photobook in 2022. She has contributed to PHOTO 2022, Benalla Art Gallery, and major exhibitions across Australia. Her photography has been featured in The New York Times, Die Zeit Magazine, Racquet Magazine, The Guardian, and Australian Geographic.
